The Devil Inside (2012)
No soul is safe.
The Devil Inside is a 2012 horror-thriller film about a woman who becomes connected with exorcisms as she unveils the secret behind her mother, who has murdered several people at the time of the latter’s own exorcism. The film is in a documentary style and is under the direction of William Brent Bell. Bell decided to have the movie on found footage style as is common and famous with most horror films leaving the impression that documentary footage was left behind by former protagonists. Fernanda Andrade plays the lead role as Isabella Rossi and is a also co-starred by Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth and Suzan Crowley as Isabella Rossi’s mother, Maria.
Isabella Rossi learns of the murder her mother committed through her father, who died three days after sharing his secrets with her. Isabella then finds her way into discovering the secrets whether exorcism really does exist or not. When she goes to visit her mother, Maria screams about things she wasn’t supposed to know about prompting Isabella to believe that her mother is really exorcised. She then continues to unravel the secrecy behind exorcism. Unfortunately, the movie ends with the film rolling a website, therossifiles.com, indicating that the exorcism is still an unresolved case.
The movie is currently the highest grossing film for 2012 after it was initially released on January 6, 2012. Movie scenes were set in Bucharest (Romania), Rome (Italy and Vatican City). The movie was produced by Morris Paulson, Matthew Peterman with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider as its executive producers.
